Last night after I finished my blog post, I moseyed on over to my Facebook page to go through some more of the billion requests that I have (okay, so maybe it wasn't that many). One of the applications that I have is a Daily Bible verse. Yesterday's verse was from 1 Corinthians 10:12:
"So, if you think you are on solid ground, be careful that you don't fall."
I just had to laugh when I read that. As I briefly alluded to in my last post I had a fall yesterday when I stopped to pick up the paper and the mail. I was getting back into my car, had my right leg in already and was just about to lift up my left leg when I lost my footing and went down. My right foot came up, and then got caught under the dashboard, straining the muscles in my thigh. I landed on the edge of the door frame, hard, and I think I have a bruise...well, I won't mention where it is. I think I banged my left calf on something, because my jeans got covered in mud and the muscles are quite sore. And I've severely strained the muscles in my abdomen (thank goodness for Robaxacet). I was pretty sore last night from the waist down, although today everything except my calf and my stomach is feeling better. I thought that all of the loose snow in the driveway wold give me traction, not realizing that it was really just covering up all of the ice underneath. So, note to self: beware of hidden pitfalls (pardon the pun) underneath loose snow.
Speaking of Bible verses, one of the girls in my Sunday School class was baptized last Sunday. As part of the gift that I'm giving her, I went to the Birthverse site and looked up the verse for February 22, and this is what it said: "And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit." (Ephesians 2:22) Somehow seems appropriate for a baptism.

Just another day
I really didn't want to go to work this morning. I was tired, I wasn't feeling well... the list of excuses went on and on. But I had a meeting to go to, and I had some things that I really needed to get off of my "to-do" list. So I got up and got dressed and left. But I was not in a very good mood. When I stepped out of the back door, I was surprised at how light it was outside. A sure sign that the days are getting longer, and that spring is (finally) on its way. The thought cheered me up somewhat, but I still wasn't in a very good mood. I wasn't really paying much attention to what was going on around me as I drove; I was too pre-occupied with how much I didn't want to be in my car driving to work. Until I happened to look in the rearview mirror. We're getting to one of my favourite times of the year, when I can watch the sun come up behind me while I drive (I don't recommend watching for too long at any one time though). The sun hadn't yet broken the horizon, but it was getting close. The sky behind me was all sorts of shades of pink and purple and yellow and orange. Absolutely breathtaking! As I admired the colours of the sky, Psalm 118:24 suddenly came to mind:
"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Those simple words lifted my spirits dramatically. I started to think, just maybe, the day wouldn't be so bad and that I would get through it. Friday is a short day for me (I only work until 12:30) so I only had to get through 5 hours, rather than 8, and the meeting would help to fill some of that time. It turned out that I had a second meeting to go to as well, and those two filled most of the morning and the time flew by. I got most of the information I needed for one of the things that I had to get off of my to-do list, and I was able to get a good start on the second item, cutting down on the amount of work that I'll have to finish on Monday. It was a beautiful sunny day, and warmer than it has been for the last couple of days (and it didn't snow, which is always good). I didn't have any errands to do after work, so I was able to go right home; most Fridays I'm lucky to be home by 4:00 even though I get off early. All in all, it turned out to be a pretty good day. Well, until I slipped getting back into my car after stopping to get the paper and the mail, but we won't go there right now.
Looking back on today, I'm reminded of a story from "Chicken Soup For The Christian Family Soul" that I used to have hanging on my wall at the last placed I worked at.
"Yes, it is just another day. A day to enjoy God's gracious beauty upon this earth. A day to learn the value of determination and hard work. A day to learn the value of judging mankind for the quality he has, not for what he has not. A day to learn the value of love."
Just another day, indeed.

Look what I found on my computer
I was trying to get some pictures off my camera memory card and onto my computer when I came across this little video. I thought it was so pretty, and a delightful reminder of spring. Take a look, and enjoy!

Blogging Again!
Well, I've finally gotten around to getting myself a new (laptop) computer. And an internet stick thing that gives me instant high-speed Internet (no more poky dial-up ...YIPPEE!). It's so nice being able to go online again - I think I was actually starting to have withdrawal pains! I just spent the last 20 minutes going through the 414 emails in my Inbox and deleting all of the old stuff. I went from 13 pages of messages down to 1. Yikes! I hadn't realized before how many mail lists I'm getting useless messages from. I think it's time to get off of some of them. The list would have been even longer, if it weren't for my new BlackBerry, which I got a few weeks ago and which allows me access to the Internet. I hate to think how many messages I would have had otherwise.
Tomorrow marks a new chapter in my career. No, I'm not starting a new job. I'm just moving into a new office. Well, technically it's a new cubicle. The Accounting Department that I work in is FINALLY getting new offices in a brand new building (it's so new that it's not completely finished yet - there's a lot of finishing touches still to be added). My co-workers and I all are very excited about this change. Our new home is clean, bright, spacious, and with any luck, dust-free (the old office was so dry and dusty that we all felt like we had permanent congestion). I took pictures of both my old cubicle (or my hole, as I fondly called it) and the new space, and I hope to be able to share them soon...I just have to figure out how to use the 8-1 card reader on this computer.
